About Counselling

Counselling is a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings about your life and experiences. Generally speaking it is a weekly commitment but as your needs change so may the frequency. It can be short or long term, face to face or online/telephone.

A counsellor is trained to help you explore life experiences and to help you make sense of any difficulties, help you find solutions, resolve past issues and bring about positive changes.

There are many different approaches to counselling so it’s important to find the right counsellor for you. This is a very individual process – you may find it useful to have an initial meeting with your chosen therapist to discuss what brings you to counselling and to get a feel for how therapy could help. Feeling comfortable and safe is the first step to effective counselling.
